MAHJONG IN MONT BELVIEU

Tropical vintage pattern featuring palms, flowers, and birds

Welcome to The Mahj-On Society in Mont Belvieu, Texas! We’re a welcoming community for anyone who wants to learn, play, and celebrate the timeless game of Mahjong. We specialize in beginner-friendly Mahjong 101 and 102 classes designed to make learning simple, fun, and memorable. From first-time players to seasoned tile lovers, our gatherings create space for connection, laughter, and friendly competition.

Through classes, guided play, themed events, and open tables, our mission is to create heirloom traditions in a modern world - bringing people together around the table for meaningful, screen-free connection.

Because Mahjong isn't just a game... it's a tradition meant to be shared.

Around the table, strangers become friends, stories are shared, and laughter comes easily. In a world that often feels disconnected, Mahjong offers a place to be seen, known, and part of something meaningful.

FOUNDER STORY

Mahjong has become far more than a game in my life — it has become a way to bring people together.

Hi, I’m Kimberly - Mahjong Instructor and founder of The Mahj-On Society. When I first started learning mahjong, I quickly realized that what made the game so special wasn’t just the strategy or the tiles. It was the way it naturally created connection. Around a mahjong table, strangers become friends, laughter flows easily, and meaningful conversations happen without the distraction of screens.

What makes this journey even more special to me is that I later discovered my great-grandmother used to play mahjong. The tradition skipped my grandmother and my mother, but now it has found its way back to me — and I’ve even had the joy of teaching my own daughter to play. That realization made the game feel like something bigger than a hobby. It felt like an heirloom tradition being rediscovered.

As I began sharing mahjong with friends and teaching others how to play, I saw how quickly people fell in love with the experience. What started as small lessons quickly grew into a community of women gathering regularly to learn, play, and build genuine friendships. That is what inspired me to create this community.

Through structured Mahjong 101 and 102 classes, guided play sessions, and social events, my goal is to make the game approachable for beginners while also creating welcoming spaces where people can gather, connect, and enjoy time together.

In a world where so much of life happens online, mahjong offers something refreshingly simple: real connection around a table.

And that’s exactly what this community is all about.

AN HEIRLOOM TRADITION, REDISCOVERED.

Mom and daughter mahjong just hits different.

YOU’RE INVITED.

And I mean that personally - I’m inviting you to be part of our society. A place where women gather, laugh, and connect... all over a shared love of Mahjong and beautiful tablescapes.

We're passionate about teaching the game, hosting meaningful events, and creating spaces that feel both fun and elevated.

We're passing this down to our children-turning Mahjong into an heirloom, not just a hobby. And along the way, we're showing up for our community by supporting the local businesses that host us.

This is more than a game… it’s something you belong to.
