A November Gathering of Gratitude & Friendship
As we enter the season of thankfulness, we’re reminded that some of life’s greatest blessings are found in the simplest moments—laughter shared around a table, friendships formed over a game, and the joy of belonging to something special.
This November, The Mahj-On Society invites you to join us at Coctel Lounge for a beautiful evening celebrating gratitude, friendship, and the incredible women who make our community what it is.
🤎 A Season to Be Thankful 🤎
We believe there is always something to be grateful for, and sometimes the greatest gifts in life aren’t things at all. They’re the people who encourage us, the friendships we never expected, and the moments that remind us how wonderful it is to be part of a community.
Together, we’ll enjoy an evening filled with mahjong, laughter, delicious food and drinks, and a few special touches to celebrate the season.
Whether you’re reconnecting with familiar faces or pulling up a chair with someone new, we hope you’ll leave with a full heart and another beautiful memory.
Mahjong, friendship, laughter & gratitude
Come ready to play, connect, and celebrate all the little things that make life beautiful.
Because at The Mahj-On Society, we’re not just playing a game. We’re creating friendships, building community, and making memories worth being thankful for.
Where strangers become friends. 🤎
Doors open for our group at 5:00 PM.
Arrive between 5:00–6:00 PM to order dinner, grab a cocktail, visit with friends, and get settled. We will eat at the same table we play at.
Mahjong begins promptly at 6:00 PM
Please do not arrive before 5:00 PM so Coctel Lounge has time to prepare for our group before we begin arriving.
As always, this is more than a night of Mahjong. Come meet someone new, share a table, enjoy a wonderful local venue, and experience the community that makes these evenings so special.

Saloon Door West – Pearland
1231 Broadway St.
Pearland, TX
Second Thursday of Every Month
Mahjong: 6:00 PM – 8:30 PM
Make it a full evening out! We encourage everyone to arrive a little early to enjoy dinner before the tiles begin to shuffle. Saloon Door West offers a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere with counter-service ordering, a delicious food menu, and a selection of beer and wine available for purchase.
One of the core missions of The Mahj-on Society is building community while supporting the amazing local businesses that make our towns so special. By gathering at locally owned venues like Saloon Door West, we’re able to enjoy a fun night of Mahjong while giving back to the businesses that invest in our communities.
Open Play is designed for players who are already comfortable with National Mahjong League rules and can play independently at the table. While everyone is always welcome, Open Play is not intended as an instructional class. If you’re still learning the game or need assistance with rules or strategy, we’d love to have you join one of our Mahjong 101 or 102 classes first so you’ll feel confident and ready to enjoy Open Play!
Reservations ($5) are non-refundable and non-transferable.
Gather your friends, come hungry, and let’s make Second Thursdays in Pearland something to look forward to each month!
If you plan to bring your own tiles, please let us know and plan to arrive at least 15 mins early to set up your table.

Open Play at Saloon Door West | September 10
Saloon Door West Open Play
Reservations ($5) are non-refundable.
Gather your friends, come hungry, and let’s make Second Thursdays in Pearland something to look forward to each month!
If you plan to bring your own tiles, please let us know and plan to arrive at least 15 mins early to set up your table.

PROOF FROM THE TABLE
"Kim took a game that felt very intimidating and taught in a way that built confidence with each time we play. Even past the 101 and 102 classes she still is always there if you have questions. She has built an environment and place where we are all cheering each other on and always happy to help the newest players. I’ve found a place with a group of women that bring joy to my soul. Take the classes, learn the game and build confidence and friendships."
